Donnie Lee Baker, a cherished father, brother, and friend, passed away on January 29, 2025, at the Mary Breckinridge ARH Hospital in Hyden, Kentucky. He was 65 years old. Born on July 20, 1959, in Manchester, Kentucky, he lived a life marked by dedication to his work and a deep commitment to his family and friends.
Throughout his career, Donnie was known as a diligent truck driver, sharing his passion for the open road with all those fortunate enough to know him. He also served with pride in the Clay County Sheriff Department, where he worked for five years, embodying his dedication to law enforcement and community service.
Donnie's interests and hobbies reflected his love for truck driving and his appreciation for the law enforcement profession. His zest for life was evident in the stories he shared and the laughter that filled the rooms he entered.
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Baker & Dorothy Baker Jackson, son, Scottie, brother, Danny Baker and step-father, Ike Jackson
He is survived by his beloved sons, Jordan Spitser and Jeremy Vega; his daughter, Alexis Baker; brothers, Earl Baker and James Jackson; sisters, Pam Mays and Dorothy "Dotty" Hoskins; and a large family of grandchildren, including Kylan, Kason, Lily, Aarlyn, and Ashley. He also leaves behind a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and spirit.
Donnie Lee Baker will be remembered for his strong work ethic, the love he had for his family, and the indelible impressions he made on those around him. His legacy will continue through the memories he created and the lives he impacted during his time on this earth.
Funeral: Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.
Minister: Jessie Kemp
Interment: Manchester Memorial Gardens, Manchester, KY.
Visitation: Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home Chapel
