Doreen Virginia Mathias, a beacon of love and courage, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, in
Lakeland, Florida, at the age of 80. Born on June 19, 1945, in the beautiful city of San Francisco, California, Doreen's life was a tapestry of rich experiences and enduring relationships. Her warmth and wisdom touched the lives of all who knew her.
Doreen's journey through life was marked by her resilience and strength. She has endured cancer two times and has embodied the spirit of a warrior, facing each challenge with unwavering courage. Her younger years showcased her athleticism as an excellent swimmer, high diver, and lifeguard, skills that exemplified her love for life and adventure.
Professionally, Doreen dedicated her career to the agricultural industry, where she excelled as an Administrative Manager. Her colleagues revered her for her strong work ethic and her ability to lead with both compassion and authority. Doreen's involvement in various associations within her field further highlighted her commitment to her profession and her community.
Family was the cornerstone of Doreen's world. She is survived by her loving brother, Dennis Sisk; her devoted daughter, Donna Davidson; her cherished son, Douglas Anderson; her caring second husband, Brian Ott; and her adored grandchildren, Misty Anderson, Megan Anderson, Eric Davidson, Mairiah Davidson, Charlie Davidson, Russell Anderson, Aundrea "Rae" Murphy and Brieanne Reidle. Doreen's legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Marissa Martin, August Davidson and Ethan Joseph as well as a host of step-children, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, and dear friends.
Doreen was predeceased by her first adored grandchild, Michael Shaun Baugher; her beloved son, Robert Anderson; her amazing sister Diane Anthony; her resilient mother Jeanette Arsenault and her former handsome husbands, Charles Anderson, Nash Weatherman, James McGuire, and John Mathias.
Beyond her accomplishments and roles, Doreen was known for her wisdom, a gift she generously shared with all who sought her counsel. Her sage advice, often drawn from her own "school of life" education, was a source of comfort and guidance for many. Her home was a haven, open to anyone in need, reflecting her welcoming spirit and her belief in the power of hospitality.
A lover of fun and festivity, Doreen's presence was the highlight of any party. Her laughter and joy were infectious, and she had an uncanny ability to make everyone around her feel at home and cherished. Doreen's life was a testament to the impact one person can have through simple acts of love and kindness..
