Doretha L. Moore-Porter, 61, of Jesup, Ga. passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at her residence. She was born on June 4, 1964 to the late, Edgar and Mozell Atkinson-Moore in Jesup, Ga.

Doretha, sometimes referred to as "Doe" by family and close friends, was educated in the public school system of Wayne County and graduated from Wayne County High School in the Class of 1983. Her employable years were spent at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Pineland and she retired from Kmart after 30 plus years of service. Doretha loved cooking, gardening and shopping. She loved her family as she did the Lord. She was a member of New Creations Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Stanley Carter where she served as the church nurse.

Doretha was preceded in death by both parents, Edgar and Mozell Atkinson-Moore and a son, Terreano Williams.

Those left to cherish her memories: her loving children, Morrese (Tina) Williams, Savannah, Ga., Mashanna (Lester) Tippins, Jesup, Ga., Anna (Reggie) Sharp, Jesup, Ga., Tommie (Vonita) Weatherspoon, Jesup, Ga. and Jada Porter, Jesup, Ga.; her grandchildren, Jatavious, Jaden, Jalen, Caden, Tommie III, Leah, Dalayasha, Terrione, Morrealion "Chico", Kingston and Tyrese; her great grandchildren, Kalise, Ava, Daniyah, Malik and Malikah; her sisters, Mary (James) Smith, Jesup, Ga., Carrie Ann Harris, Jacksonville, Fl. and Jeanette Twyne, Yonkers, NY; her brothers, Walter Atkinson and Lamar Twyne both of Blackshear, Ga., Charles Twyne, Jacksonville, Fl. and Edward Twyne of Waycross, Ga.; an uncle, Isaiah (Jackie) Moses, Blackshear, Ga. a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

A wake/visitation will be held at Royal Funeral Home Chapel, 247 W. Pine Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545 from 5-7 pm on Friday, August 29, 2025.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 @ 11:00 am at Jesup New Life Ministries, 512 Walker Street, Jesup, Ga. 31545.

Interment in Sunset Oaks Memorial Cemetery, 1580 Sunset Blvd., Jesup, Ga. 31545.
