Doris Lee (Snook) Barker, 92, passed away on August 7, 2024.
Doris was born June 23, 1932 in Springfield, MO. And grew up in Golden City, MO. After graduating high school, she moved to Kansas City in 1949. Doris worked for Hallmark Cards for 13 years until 1963. She married Bud Barker in 1959. Together, they worked at Bud's company, Barker Painting and Construction, where she took care of the office work. In her spare time, she and her family could often be found spending most weekends at the Lake of the Ozarks. Once her and Bud retired in 1979, they moved to the lake, as well as bought a motor home and traveled. They loved living at the lake, which they did until 2006 before moving back to Raymore to be closer to family. Doris had many hobbies, but especially loved entertaining and spending time with her family, working in the garden, and keeping in touch with friends on the computer.
Doris leaves behind two sons, Curt and his wife Rita, and Jerry; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; parents, Lester and Beatrice Snook; and her sister, Ruth Lillard.
A celebration of life will be held at Park Lawn Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 13th, with visitation beginning at 10:00am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00am.
