Doris Bedell Brass

Doris Bedell Brass sadly passed away at age 89 on Tuesday, July 29th at 12:05PM. She died peacefully at Good Samaritan Hospital with her family by her side. Doris grew up in Bellmore, NY. Daughter of Harry and Margaret Bedell. She is predeceased by her ever loving husband E. Lawrence Brass who passed away August 10, 2002 as well as her sister, Virginia Bedell. Doris was always full of life and lived life fully up until the end of her days. Her heart was as big as an ocean and showed that to everyone in her life. She enjoyed the simple things in life like the beauty of a sunset or the soft sounds of birds chirping. She appreciated and loved Long Island like no one else. Often going on long drives just to enjoy the beauty of the island. And was often known to pick up a snack and enjoy it in her car while sitting at Robert Moses Beach. Doris is survived by her 3 loving children, Matthew Brass Sr., Michael Brass and Elizabeth Michaels who were by her side during her last days. Her son-in-law Daniel Michaels and her sister, Carolyn Thomas. As well as 7 grandchildren, Brianna Brass, Brannon Brass, Nicholas Brass, Matthew Brass Jr., Aidan Michaels, Jonah Michaels and Juliet Michaels. And 1 great-grandchild, Kai Brass. Doris was completely devoted to her family and she will be sorely missed.
