Doris E Brewster

Doris E. Brewster, 96, of Closter, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on January 30, 2026 at The Valley Hospital in Paramus. Born February 8, 1929 to Henry and Alice Wrixon, Doris proudly lived her entire life in Closter. She met her husband, the late Allen Brewster, at Closter High School, and the two married in 1953 upon Allen's return from Army service. She gave birth to their first son, the late Allen E. Brewster, in 1955, followed by the late Jeffrey Brewster in 1960. Doris worked as a bookkeeper for many years, most recently at Colgate-Palmolive, from which she retired. She spent her later years as a devoted grandmother to two grandchildren.

Doris enjoyed traveling, arts and crafts such as sewing and ceramics, and gardening. She was also an avid Yankee fan.

Doris is predeceased by her six siblings - Martha Crawford, Alyce Zampolino, Howard Wrixon, Eugene Robert Wrixon, Harry Wrixon and Edward Wrixon. She is survived by her grandchildren, Amanda and Kevin Brewster, her daughter in law, Ellen Brewster (Jeffrey), and many nieces and nephews.
