Doris Lee Creekmore

Doris Lee Quinn Creekmore, age 94, of Grandy, NC died at her residence on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Born in Messick, VA on March 13, 1931 to the late Cecil Thomas Quinn and Mary Elizabeth Rollins Quinn, and was the widow of Herbert Ervin Creekmore. Doris dedicated many years of service as a cafeteria worker with the Virginia Beach public school system. As a devoted member of Jarvisburg Church of Christ, for over 20 years, she lived her life as a testament to her Christian beliefs. Doris spread love and compassion to everyone she encountered. She was a woman of many passions, but her faith was always at the heart of her pursuits. Doris found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as reading the Bible, hosting meals and special events where she would cook tons of great food. Doris was an amazing baker where she loved displaying her skills. She participated in church groups, and shared moments of fellowship with friends and family. Her presence was a source of comfort and inspiration, and she was often turned to for guidance and support. Doris was also an excellent navigator when she and the family would take road trips together.

She is survived by her daughters, Elaine Creekmore and Deborah Anne Hamilton; four grandchildren, Melissa Gilkey, Matthew Hamilton, MarLee Louks, and Liam Hamilton; and five great grandchildren, Tristen King, Logan Gilkey, Calvin Gilkey, Owen Louks, CharLee Louks. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wallace; sisters, Mary Rae and Betty Jean; and one grandson, Sean Hamilton.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Jarvisburg Church of Christ with Pastor Ron Lawrence and Pastor Dennis Crehan officiating. Burial will follow at Laurel Memorial Gardens. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Jarvisburg Church of Christ, the Love Fund, 121 Forbes Road, Jarvisburg, NC 27947.
