Doris Dake, 94, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on August 11, 2025, at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on March 16, 1931 in Memphis, Indiana, to the late John Johnson and Lillie (Orman) Johnson. On January 30, 1953 Dois married the love of her life, Robert D. Dake, he passed on November 24, 2020. Throughout her life, Doris embodied warmth and kindness. As a devoted homemaker, she found joy in sewing and quilting, creating beautiful handmade pieces that reflect her passion and love for family. Doris also made her mark in the community as a dedicated sales clerk at the old Spann variety store, where her friendly demeanor and supportive spirit touched the lives of many. In addition to her parents and husband, Robert, Doris is preceded in death by one son, Roger Dake; and one brother, Herbert Johnson. Doris is survived by one daughter, Melissa Ann (Vern) Reardon of Scottsburg, Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Irene "Tooty" Dake of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jimmy (Sara) Brock, Stacy (Bob) Christie, Robert (Elizabeth) Dake, Roger Daniel (Emily) Dake, Brian (Amber) Reardon and Joshua (Liz) Reardon and ten great grandchildren, Josh, Jayden, Carter, Alexis and Taylor Reardon, Parker and Emmerson Brock, McKnight, Cornelia, Clementine, and Rowan Dake and Mason Christie. Funeral Service for Doris Dake will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, 1:00pm at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Visitation will be prior to the service Friday, starting at 11:30am until 1:00pm at Collins Funeral Home. Cremation will follow services and there will be a private burial at Scottsburg Cemetery, in Scottsburg, Indiana. Online condolences:www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
