Dr. Doris Sell Emerson

Dr. Doris Sell Emerson of New Britain, PA passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023. She was 96.
Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Alfred and Clara (Hartzell) Sell, Doris resided in Buckingham, PA before moving to New Britain, PA in 1990.
She was a graduate of Kensington High School and received her undergraduate degree from Temple University, Philadelphia. Doris later received a Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, Philadelphia, where she graduated number one in her class, summa cum laude and one of two women in the class of 1954.
Doris and her husband Dr. John G. Emerson, VMD established the Emerson Veterinary Clinic in Buckingham, PA, in 1956, where she practiced for 30 years before retirement. Post retiring from veterinary medicine she worked as a bank teller and as a successful Realtor. She loved to ski and completed her skiing career at the age of 87. She loved animals of all kinds She loved to travel and always had a very special place in her heart for Colorado.
She was the beloved wife of Dr. John G. Emerson, VMD; devoted mother of Linda Emerson and late husband Michael; Holly Emerson Wohlers and husband Keith, Mardi Emerson Rumin and husband Eric; loving grandmother of Klara Jeute and husband Thomas, Emerson Wohlers and Alissa Rumin. In addition to her family, she was affectionately known by many as "Mother".
A memorial service will be held in the near future.
