Doris Mae Gravenor

Doris Mae Gravenor, 92, of Hebron passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2024 at John B. Parsons Home in Salisbury. Born in Hebron, she was the daughter of the late Francis Levin and Nellie Mae Jones.
After completing high school, Doris embraced being a devoted army wife to her husband of over sixty years, Wilson Gravenor, and caring for her home and their children. In their younger years, the Gravenor family traveled all over the United States and even to Europe while Wilson was serving our country. She was a simple woman who enjoyed the little things in life; reading, her family, and most importantly being a Grannie to her grandchildren.
Doris is survived by her children, Wilson Gravenor, Jr. (Terrie), Nellie Majors (Robert), Anna Larimore (Richard), Susan Simpson (late Jeff Simpson), and Audrey Overbaugh (late John Overbaugh), her eighteen grandchildren, multiple great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Linda Oldenberg, Kirk Gravenor, and Troy Gravenor, and four brothers, Francis, Jr., Leonard, Harry, and Toby.
A visitation will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Road, from 6pm-8pm and on Sunday, August 11, 2024 from 1pm-2pm. A funeral service will follow Sunday's visitation at 2pm that will be officiated by her son in law, Thomas Oldenburg. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery.
