Doris King

DORIS KING
Hornsby, TN: Doris Lea Isbell King, age 93, passed away December 23, 2025, at Baptist Memorial East in Memphis.
She was born in McNairy County, and grew up in the Woodville Community, the daughter of the late William Claude and Virgie Irene Isbell. She graduated from Chester County High School and married Kirby King on April 21, 1951. They made their home in Peoria for a few years and returned to the Woodville Community. She worked at Hardeman Garment for twenty-six years and then worked with Mr. King at King's Auto Parts in Bolivar. Mr. King preceded her in death in 2016.
She enjoyed singing and playing the guitar at church, she also enjoyed gardening, Facebook and grandchildren.
Mrs. King is survived by a daughter, Sharon Vandiver of Hornsby and two sons, Greg King (Wanda) of Bethel Springs and Ritchie King (Kristie) of Beech Bluff; eight grandchildren, Brandon King, Wesley King, Jonathan King, David King (Chastity), Jessica Matthews, Jennifer Morgan (Brandon) Nalani Darling (Chris) and Jeff Vandiver (Mindy); sixteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and two sisters, Willie Jo Moore and Sandra Rowland.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Bro. Anthony Rowland officiating. Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time on Sunday.
