Doris Matlack (nee McDermott) of Cherry Hill, NJ, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, at the age of 97.

She was born June 26, 1928, the daughter of Joseph and Cora McDermott (nee Severance).Doris graduated from Camden Catholic High School, Camden, NJ. She was a stay-at-home mother and an original member of St Peter Celestine Parish (now Christ Our Light), in Cherry Hill. She served as President of the Altar-Rosary Society and taught catechism in her home. She also worked part-time as bookkeeper at Duane's Floral Shoppe and loved to garden, sew, paint, play cards and puzzles, and travel.

Above all, Doris was the heart of her family. She was generous with her time and talents - preparing holiday meals, babysitting her many grandchildren, sewing halloween costumes, stuffed animals and communion dresses, and sending cards for every occasion, always with a dollar enclosed!

Beloved wife of the late Clinton. Loving mother of Judith Melnick (Andrew, deceased), Patricia Biedryzcki (Robert), Nancy Sheppard (John), Mary Pacifico (Steve), and Michael (Carol Sulock).

Devoted grandmother of Christopher, Andrea, Alison, Christopher (deceased), Michael, Rebecca, John, Leah, Steven, Gina, Kathryn, Megan, David, and Joseph.

Devoted great grandmother of Jackson, Billie, Chana, Levi, Kevin, Abby, Rosie, Penny, Tommy, Oscar, Drew, Bennett, Sloane, Chase, Sam, Ellie, Arlo, Paislee, Kinslee, Maya, Maddie, and Sora.

She is also survived by her sister Mary (John Coyle, deceased), and many nieces and nephews. "Predeceased by brother Joseph McDermott, Jr. and sister Elizabeth McDermott Walsh."

Services are on Tuesday December 23: 10am Viewing at Christ our Light Church, 402 Kings Hwy N, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034, and Funeral mass at 11am. Interment will be private.
