Obituary of Doris Richards
Doris Richards (Schwenk), age 94 of Lakeville, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2025.
Doris was born on May 22, 1930, to William and Dorothy Schwenk in Yankton, South Dakota. Doris is survived by her children Rachael Harvey (Sandy Haberman), Brad (Cindy) Harvey, Nancy (Sonny) McKay, Lisa (Jeff) Anderson; grandchildren Maurice (Nampheung) McKay, Sean (Gabriela) McKay, Sara (Erik) Anderson, Heather (Jon) Corbett, Christie (Chase) Johannsen, Tommy (Kiera) Anderson; 10 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law; Marlene Schwenk.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband; Robert Richards, parents; William and Dorothy Schwenk, siblings; Robert Schwenk, Shirley Lucia, Fred Schwenk, daughter-in-law; Vicki Harvey, nephew; Gregory Schwenk.
Doris attended Yankton College where she earned a two-year certificate in Education. She had three passions: her children and grandchildren, her love to cook good food, and her energy to give and serve others. Doris loved sharing wonderful meals with family and friends and extended that love by preparing and serving meals at Sharing and Caring Hands and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Sharing and Caring Hands, 525 N 7th Street, Minneapolis MN 55405.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2025, with visitation at 10 a.m., funeral service 11 a.m. and luncheon to follow at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 13801 Fairview Dr, Burnsville, MN.
