Doris was born December 12, 1946 in Fort Payne, AL to parents, Hubert Violen "Jeff" and Mandy Pauline Beaty Steele. She was a 1965 graduate of Ider High School and had lived in the Ider area where she enjoyed taking care of her yard and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sons, Will Smith(Laura), Andrew Smith(April), grandchildren, Connor Smith and Lucas Smith, sisters, Brenda O'Dell, Debbie Steele and brother, Boyd Steele. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stacey Smith and brother, Max Steele.
