Doris Ann Thompson, 59, of Abbeville, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at AnMed Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late James R. Thompson, Sr. and Inez Hodges ‘Tiny’ Thompson.
Doris was a proud graduate of Abbeville High School, class of 1984, and she served honorably in the United States Navy. Known for her warmth and generosity, Doris cherished her connections with people and animals alike. She had a passion for golfing and enjoyed many Sunday morning outings with her friends at McCormick Country Club. A regular visitor of Ferguson’s Produce, she found joy in these community moments.
Doris was always eager to lend a helping hand, offering her support without hesitation and sharing her thoughts openly. Her vibrant spirit and kindness touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her cherished family, friends, and her loyal dog, Jake.
At Doris request there are no services planned.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Doris may be sent to the Abbeville Animal Shelter, 79 Old Calhoun Falls Road, Abbeville, SC 29620.
