Marilyn is survived by her loving Husband, Samuel Totten; Children, Deborah (Goldie) Gholson, Stephen Samuel (Julie Faye) Totten, Judith Faith (Michael) Ealey; Nine Grandchildren, Doug (Kaylee) Gholson, Dustin (Katie) Gholson, Tiffany (Paul) Owens, April (Travis) Hertenstein, Bryn (Kaz) Ealey, Candace (Jason) Portz, David Agre, Amanda (Drew) Foulk, Hailey Faith Ealey; Thirteen Great-Grandchildren, Cale, Addie, Kaden, Kasandra, Raelyn, Paul, Carter, Reese, Emma, Mason, Eli, Kynlee, Khloe; Several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her Parents, Paul and Leota Gaddis; Brothers, Kenneth Gaddis and Glenn Gaddis and several nieces and nephews.
She served alongside her husband Pastor Sam in Methodist Church Ministries for over 66 years, they served in the Methodist Churches all over Southern Illinois. Marilyn served in several church youth camps, and worked at Aldersgate Federal Credit Union along with several other jobs.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at West Salem Church, in Mt. Vernon, IL. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 1:00 pm at West Salem Church in Mt. Vernon, IL, with Reverend Matt Dickerson and Reverend Brad Henson officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, IL. Memorials may be made in Marilyn's honor to West Salem Trinity Church or to the Preachers Aide Society.
