Celebration of Life for Our Beloved Mother, Dorita Norman
Dear Family and Friends,
It is with deep love and heartfelt sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Dorita Norman, who transitioned peacefully on the evening of November 2.
Dorita's life was a reflection of elegance, service, and unwavering faith. She was the heart of our family-a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness left an imprint on every soul she touched.
A Celebration of Life honoring her remarkable journey will be held on Friday, November 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Cascade United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony, conducted by her cherished Sorors of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, will take place earlier that morning at 9:08 a.m.
The Repass will be held immediately following the service in the lower level of Cascade UMC.
A live stream will be available for those unable to attend in person.
Attire Requests
To honor Dorita's grace and legacy, guests are kindly asked to wear:
Family & Friends: Shades of gold, cream, or black
Sorors of Alpha Kappa Alpha:
Participating in the Ivy Beyond the Wall - uninterrupted white ritual attire with pearls
Not participating - white attire with a pink tea rose and pearls
Former & Current Delta Air Lines Employees: Black or cream attire with Delta wings, or Delta flight uniform
Roosevelt High School classmates: Black attire with an orange ribbon
Spelman College classmates: White attire with baby blue ribbons
Supporters of Precious Pearls by Rita: Please wear your pearls proudly in her honor
Dorita leaves behind her beautiful mother, Mary Norman; her loving brother, Jeff Norman; her devoted children, Brandon and Jasmine; and her three treasured grandchildren: Wise Michael (12), Harlem Ororo-Munroe (9), and Eva Soleil (7). Her legacy of love, education, and service continues to shine through each of them.
We thank you for your prayers, compassion, and presence as we celebrate the extraordinary life of a woman whose elegance and light will forever guide us.
