In Loving Memory of Nancy Hudson Gaines

Nancy Hudson Gaines passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, after a brave journey through various illnesses. Until the end, she cherished the love of her family and friends, expressing gratitude for her long life filled with wonderful and diverse experiences.

Nancy's life can best be encapsulated by five "F" words: Family, Fun, Fabulousness, Food, and Friendship. In her 76 years, she embraced each of these elements abundantly, teaching us all to live unapologetically.

Early Life: Born and raised in Gainesville, GA, Nancy attended E.E. Butler High School and went on to Spelman College briefly. She later retired from BellSouth but continued to work at Sears during her free time.

Relationships: Throughout her life, Nancy maintained close bonds with lifelong friends who ensured she was well cared for and often took her on adventures. She frequently spoke of the family, friends, and caregivers who supported her, enhancing the quality of her life.

Legacy of Love: If we remember anything about Nancy, let it be that she lived each moment without regrets and loved each of you dearly. Even when words sometimes failed to express our understanding, she always conveyed a meaningful message through her actions and spirit.

Nancy is predeceased by her son, Christopher Williams, and her parents, Otha and Christine Hudson and siblings Laura Hudson Giles, Otha T Hudson.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelli Young Thompson (Calvin Thompson), and her beloved grandchildren: Kayla Williams, Alexis Maddox (Kross Jackson), and Madison Thompson. Her surviving siblings include Alfreida Wilson and Richard Hudson.

Special friends who were dear to Nancy include Claudean McKelvin and Linda Carruth.

Although she is no longer with us "Thank you, for showing us what unconditional love looks like".
