Dorotha A "Dot" Mackowiak

Age 92 formerly of Pine City, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. She was born on March 28, 1933 in Covington Pa. She was the daughter of the late Bruce & Edna Everetts Thomas. Now she is reunited with her beloved husband, Bernard Mackowiak who predeceased her in 2018 following 66 years of marriage. Dot was employed for many years at A&P Foods as well as Light's Bakery. She was a longtime communicate of St. Mary's Church. Her interests included caring for her husband and family and spending time with her cherished friends. Dot is survived by her loving family, sons, Ronald (Cynthia) Mackowiak, and Tommy Mackowiak; grandchildren, Matthew (Rachel) Mackowiak, Stephen (Kathryn) Mackowiak and Meghan Mackowiak; great grandchildren, Liam, Owen, Madison and Finnegan Mackowiak; many nieces, nephews and close family friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Dot was predeceased by her brothers, Richard, Russell and Ralph Thomas. Graveside services will take place in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery at the family's convenience. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the 2 nd floor nursing staff for their excellent care they provided for Dot. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dot's memory to the Chemung County Nursing Facility, 103 Washington St. Elmira, NY 14901.
