Dorothy Mae Bias, age 95 of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, at Gasconade Manor in Owensville.

Dorothy was born April 24, 1930, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Marcus and Hettie (Bernard) Zumwalt.

She attended school in Jefferson City and was a homemaker.

On January 3, 1947, she was united in marriage to Clellan Bias in Jefferson City. He preceded her in death on November 13, 1969.

Dorothy was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed music, dancing, card playing, word search puzzles, M&M’s and root beer.

Dorothy is survived by two sons, Gail Bias and his wife Linda of Columbia and Keith Bias and his wife Shelley of Jefferson City; four daughters, Joyce Brust of Wardsville, Connie Falkner of Amarillo, Texas, Cyndi Summers of Linn, and Brenda Miranda and her husband Gordon of Jefferson City; 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and spouse of 22 years, Dorothy was preceded in death by one son, Delbert Bias; one grandson, Dylan Bias; four brothers, William, Lee, Jimmy and Orville Zumwalt, and five sisters, infant Mary Zumwalt, Fannie Edgell, Susie Bittick, Margaret Spurrier, and Ellen Cones.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Graveside Services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Hartsburg.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
