Dorothy R. Borkowski, 90, of Scranton died Tuesday, September 23 at Embassy of Scranton following an illness. She is the widow of Walter Borkowski who died in 1988.

Born September 5, 1935 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Santos "Sandy" and Helen (Kropa) Buselli. Dorothy was a 1955 graduate of Hop Bottom High School, and prior to her retirement, was employed as a child care provider for many years. Dorothy and her husband resided in North Plainfield, New Jersey for many years, prior to relocating to Scranton.

Dorothy was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Scranton. Dorothy was fun-loving and enjoyed great fellowship with friends and family.

Surviving are: Nieces, Mary Jane Cerminaro and husband Joe of Scranton; Helene Altier and husband Art of Scranton; nephew, Fred Buselli and wife, Rose, of Yardley, PA; great-nieces and nephews, April Altier, Angie Robinson and husband Rich, Amy Davis, Matthew Buselli and wife, Linda, and Jason Buselli and wife, Gosia.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Buselli, brother, Sandy Buselli Jr., and her nephew, Sandy Buselli III.

A memorial service will be conducted Friday October 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 238 Reese Street Scranton, PA with Rev. John Zimmerman, pastor as officiating clergy.

Friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Interment with committal prayers will be conducted at Cathedral Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 238 Reese Street, Scranton, PA 18508
