Janice I. Borkowski (Eskut), 87, of Ellicott City, Maryland, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025. Born in 1937 in Pocahontas, Virginia, Janice was the daughter of the late Frank S. Eskut and Kathleen B. Eskut (Worrell). She spent her childhood in Pocahontas before moving to Baltimore, Maryland with her family at the age of 13. Janice attended and graduated from Patterson Park High School. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Milton Borkowski. Together, they raised six children in Ellicott City, Maryland.

Janice enjoyed world travel, golf, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. She dedicated her life to her family and helping others in need. Family, faith in God, and tradition were the cornerstones of her life.

Janice had an extraordinary ability to bring people together. She created cherished memories through countless family gatherings that became treasured traditions and reflected her deep love for those closest to her. Janice is survived by her loving children: Tracey Callens (Bob), David Borkowski (Adrienne), James Borkowski (Lynne), Valerie Bimstefer (Jim), and Christine Callahan (Steve). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Milton, and her dear son Michael Borkowski.

Janice, affectionately known as "Nan" is also lovingly remembered by her 16 grandchildren: Kristen (Donnie), Kate (Weston), Meredith (Giuseppe), Weston, Morgan, Matthew, Grant, Daniel, Garrett, Michael, Ryan, Anna, Brett, Christopher, Carleigh, and Brady; and her great-grandchildren: Afton, Emily, Michael, and Grayson. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Kate (Weston).

Janice is survived by her siblings: Betty Sardella (Jerry), Ginger Guerassio (Gary), Wayne Eskut, her sisters-in-law Barbara Gunther (Frank), Peggy Gutwiller, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Billie Eskut (Janice), Frank Eskut, and sisters-in-law Sarah Eskut and Catherine Bailey (Ralph).

Her warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered always. Janice leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the comfort of a home where everyone felt welcome.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Resurrection on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made, in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she gave so freely.
