The memorial service for Dorothy F. Cahoy, 90, of Aberdeen, SD, will be 10:30 am, Saturday, July 5, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father Mitchell McLaughlin officiating. Burial will be at Geddes Cemetery, Geddes, SD at a later date. Dorothy died Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor, Aberdeen, SD.

Dorothy F. DuFrain was born June 10, 1935, to Adolph and Loretta (Roth) DuFrain in Hartington, NE. She grew up and attended school in Geddes, SD.

On July 28, 1953, Dorothy married Leo Cahoy in Geddes, SD. While Leo served in the military, Dorothy remained on the Cahoy family farm. After Leo returned to Geddes, they worked together on their dairy farm and enjoyed square dancing. In 1978, Dorothy and Leo moved to Rapid City, SD where Dorothy was Department Manager at Haggerty's. She enjoyed business buying trips, deciding what cosmetics and accessories the store would offer customers. After Dorothy retired, she and Leo moved to Aberdeen.

Dorothy was very loving, independent, determined, and dedicated to her family. She enjoyed shopping, baking and cooking. Family favorites included breads, pies, cakes, and kolaches.

Grateful for having shared Dorothy's life are her husband, Leo Cahoy; sons: Douglas (Lora) Cahoy, Dennis (Billie) Cahoy, and Gary (Sandra) Cahoy; grandchildren: Jessica (Jeremy) Kroon, Aaron Cahoy, Adam (Alyssa) Cahoy, Chad (Jennifer) Cahoy, Darci (James) Tidwell, Sam (Michyl) Cahoy, and Andy (Kathryn) Cahoy; great-grandchildren: Lydia Kroon, Lucas Kroon, Lawson Kroon, Elijah Cahoy, Camille Cahoy, Caden Cahoy, Brooklyn Tidwell, Paxton Tidwell, Haley Cahoy, Camden Cahoy, Mikelyn Cahoy, Owyn Cahoy, Leo Cahoy, Arthur Cahoy and Elizabeth Cahoy; sister Lucille Dufek, and brother-in-law James Cahoy.

Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents Adolph & Loretta DuFrain; and siblings: Donald DuFrain, Maurine Cahoy, Marguerite Larsen and Duane DuFrain.
