Dorothy Checchi Obituary
She was born on March 27, 1930, to the late George and Anna Czech DeNorcy in Cuylerville, NY. Dorothy graduated class of 1948 of Shade High School, Cairnbrook PA
Dorothy worked in retail, grocery, office and school settings, retiring from Brandywine School District, State of Delaware. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, cooking, reading, watching the Food Network Channel and watching CNN and most of all family gatherings.
She was preceded in Death by her husband, Frank W. Checchi in 2019.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Vincent Checchi (Sandra), Erin Chandler (Charles), Joseph Checchi (Jane O'Rourke), Frank Checchi (Sharon), and former daughter-in -law Diane Checchi.
Grandchildren, Candace (Jerry), Christopher (Erin), Sean (Katie), Anthony, Gabriella, Jane, Daniella, Alex, and Garrett; great grandchildren, Patrick, Colin, Parker and Rowan, her sisters, Dolores Kawecki and Marcella Rozwadowski and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on August 21, 2024, at 1pm at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE. A viewing will be held from 12 – 1pm. Burial will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to Forward Journey Adult Action Center, 52 Reads Way, New Castle DE 19720.
