Dorothy E. Dalabon, RN of Quincy, died unexpectedly on September 10, 2025. Daughter of the late Henry "Bud" Dalabon and Grace (Reagan) Dalabon. Sister of Diane O'Sullivan and her husband Michael of Londonderry, NH, Thomas Dalabon and his wife Joanne of Squantum, James Dalabon of Quincy and Richard Dalabon of Weymouth. Aunt of Brendan O'Sullivan and his wife Lauren, Katharine Balukas and her husband Ryan, Jacqueline Lite and her husband Matthew, Richard Dalabon, Jr. and his wife Stephanie, Joseph Dalabon and Stefani Dalabon and her fiance Shawn Meagher. Great aunt to Tanner and Hadley Balukas, Rorie O’Sullivan, Caitlin Lite, Morgan Meagher and Richard H. Dalabon, III.

Dorothy was born at Milton Hospital and raised in Quincy. She graduated from North Quincy High School Class of 1976. She received her surgical certificate from the Vo- Tech program and worked at Carney Hospital for many years. She furthered her education and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Laboure College attending night classes. Dorothy worked as an operating room nurse at Milton and Quincy Hospitals. Most recently she worked at Eastern Mass Surgery Center in Norwood, she never had the chance to retire. She enjoyed taking cruises and loved her trips to Bermuda. She enjoyed the simple things in life, but nothing was more important than her family, especially her nieces and nephews. They were the light of her life. Each one holding a special place in her heart. She had a unique nickname for each of them, little tokens of affection that captured their personalities or special memories they shared. To them she was “Aunt DOR” attending all their events and milestones. She was their biggest cheerleader. Although they are heartbroken at her loss they feel fortunate for all the blessings she brought into their lives. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.
