Dorothy Lee Faulkner

HILLSBOROUGH: Dorothy Lee Faulkner, 84, passed away peacefully on Oct. 31, 2025, at Hillcrest Convalescent Center in Durham. She was born in Durham, the daughter of the late Winder Green Faulkner and Mary Wilson Wagoner Faulkner.
Ms. Faulkner was a graduate of Hillsborough High School and Technical College of Alamance and worked in clerical and office management roles at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Carolina and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, before retiring in 2015. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hillsborough, where she served as librarian. For much of her life, she maintained her cosmetology license. She was a gifted knitter and crocheter, and she used her gifts in service of others.
Ms. Faulkner is survived by her sisters, Betty Jean Faulkner and Martha Faulkner Hicks; brother-in-law, Kenneth Malcolm Hicks; nephews, Brian Scott Hicks (wife, Cheryl) and Steven Kent Hicks; grandnephew Elijah Malcolm Hicks; and grandniece, Caroline Mary Hicks.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 9th at 2:00 pm at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Hillsborough.
