Dorothy "Dot" (Walls) Foster died peacefully at her home on Friday, August 8, 2025. She was born on December 23, 1931, in Altoona, PA, to Thelma M. (Kensinger) Walls and Harry E. Walls of Hollidaysburg, PA. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles S. Foster, Jr.
Dot was preceded in death by four of her six children: Kenneth L. Foster, Larry W. Foster, Evelyn L. (Foster) Ring, and James E. Foster; and by a grandson, Kenneth C. Foster. She is survived by daughters Donna K. (Foster) Seifarth and husband Randy of York, PA, and Regina L. (Hutson) Keller and husband Curtis of Clear Spring, MD. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Dot experienced painful losses in her later life but somehow rallied, finding strength in those she loved. Her resilience was remarkable, and she was truly one of a kind.
Her granddaughter Kimberly provided devoted care from February 2024 until Dot's passing. She was also supported during this time by her daughters, sons-in-law, and other family members.
After spending many years at home raising her children, Dorothy was employed by Washington County Public Schools for twenty-four years. In her younger years, she held several jobs in Hollidaysburg.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. N., Hagerstown, MD. Other services will be held privately with the family. The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Hospice of Washington County for their wonderful support.
