GOUVERNEUR- Dorothy A. Gray, age 99 passed away on July 4, 2025 at her home with her family at her side while under the care of Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. A graveside service will be held on July 18, 2025 at 10AM at Fairview Cemetery in Edwards, with Ron Snyder officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home, 33 Park St., Gouverneur.
Dorothy was born in Edwards on November 3, 1925 to the late Clarence and Mary (Strate) Watson. She attended Gouverneur Schools and received her GED. Dorothy was a housekeeper at the Edgewood Resort in Alexandria Bay for 18 years retiring in 1987. She was married to Mahlon Kirker, who predeceased her in 1961, she later married David R. Gray who also predeceased her in 2012. Dorothy and Mahlon operated a dairy farm in North Gouverneur.
Surviving Dorothy are her children, Dennis (Laura) Parow of LaFargeville, Linda Hull of Gouverneur, stepchildren Raymond Gray of Alexandria Bay, Carolyne Mason of Hastings, Darlene (Randy) White of Madrid. several grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren, her brothers, William (Carol) Kirker of Edwards Bay, Michigan, Raymond Kirker of Oxbow, a sister Barbara Harrison of Conway, South Carolina, several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a member of the 200 Club in Evans Mills. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching television and attending church activities at the United Methodist Church of Evans Mills.
Memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Lady's Circle at the Evans Mills United Methodist Church, 8668 Church Street, Evans Mills, NY 13637.
