Dorothy "Dottie" Izard, 91, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 4:45 pm January 19, 2024 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. She was born December 2, 1932 in Saint Louis, Missouri to the late Edward H. and Frances (Schuchardt) Manhart. Dottie married Richard J. "Dick" Izard on February 12, 1950 in Saint Louis. They were blessed with 66 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on February 27, 2016.
Dottie is survived by her children, Kathy Talbert and husband, Rick of Mount Vernon, Richard "Rick" Izard of Mount Vernon, and Michelle Northey of Traverse City, Michigan; grandchildren, Dylan Nichols of Mount Vernon, Matthew Nichols and wife, Rugile of Saint Petersburg, Florida, and J.T. Northey of Traverse City, Michigan; and step granddaughter, RicShon Talbert.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dottie was preceded in death by her siblings, Frances Leah, Leo Manhart, Louise Flood, and Alma Ray; and step-grandson, Nathaniel Talbert.
Dottie worked for Mammoth, Stage, and Peebles for many years. She was a faithful member of Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. Dottie was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and adored her.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made in Dottie's honor to the Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund.
