Dorothy Lee Jolley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on August 14th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 19th, 1935, in Kaufman County, Texas. Daughter of Willie Morgan Squires and Sarah Elizabeth Adams. She grew up during the great depression. The family traveled and picked crops to survive.
Upon graduating High School she moved to Dallas, Texas where she met the love of her life, George. There she worked as a seamstress for a local clothing manufacturer.
In 1967, the family moved to Texas City, Texas where she helped manage the Showboat theatre, a historic landmark venue.
In 1970 they were transferred to the Gemini Drive In, in Victoria Texas where she also co-managed the theatre.
She was a licensed real estate agent. She was also Manager of Leons fashion store for several years as well as manager of The Booterie shoe store. She was president of the Pilot Club of Victoria and active in the community.
She is survived by her daughter Tammy and husband Michael, Her son Adam and wife Lisa as well as her brothers Donald, James, grandchildren Skip, Luke, Charisse, Shaina, Stephanie, Heather, Carrie, Sandra and Danny. Great Grand Children Mark, Brandon, Charlie, Payton, Gordon, Trinity, Meric, McKenzie, James, Jackson, Hank and Elizebeth.
A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held at McNutt Funeral Home 1703 Porter Rd, TX 77301
