Rock Hill, SC – Dorothy Irene Josleyn, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Harvest Ministries Church of God, 1211 Anderson Road S., Rock Hill, SC 29730 with Reverend Gary Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park – Cherry Road, 620 S. Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service, from 1:00 – 1:50 pm.
Born in Johnston City, IL, Mrs. Josleyn was the daughter of the late Raymond H. Roach and the late Ruth Wilson Roach. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Reverend William H. Josleyn, and her siblings, Harold Roach, Gene Roach, Lowell Roach, Evelyn Fowler, Vera Dodd, Mildred Hendershott, and Betty Taylor.
Mrs. Josleyn was married to her husband for 60 years and proudly served as a pastor's wife for 45 of those wonderful years. She valued this role as she assisted him in any way that presented itself, whether that be serving in various ministries or helping him with clerical needs. It was her honor to serve the church members with him.
At the age of 65, Mrs. Josleyn began working at the Naval Hospital in Charleston as the private secretary to the Head of Pediatrics. She worked in this capacity for more than 10 years. In her free time, you would often find her reading the bible and studying through her devotions. Mrs. Josleyn was a perfectionist, but in the very best way. Everything she touched was organized and tidy. She was an easy-going and optimistic woman, always ready to face anything that came her way. Mrs. Josleyn never complained and always trusted that the Lord had her steps mapped out ahead of her. She enjoyed sitting and watching the happenings outside, especially with her great-grandson, Caden. More than anything else, she deeply loved her family.
Surviving are her daughter, Janice (Joe) Hicks of Rock Hill, SC; her granddaughters, Josleyn Aguirre (Adam) and Jessica Howell (Travis); her great-grandson, Caden Aguirre; and her sisters, Lynda Tidwell and JoAnne Tidwell.
Flowers can be sent to Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
