**Obituary for Gary Donald Josleyn** It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Donald Josleyn, who left us peacefully on August 19, 2025, in Venice, Florida. Born on February 24, 1948, in Bay, Arkansas, Gary was a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, whose warmth and generosity will be profoundly missed. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Bolton, and their daughter, Corey Schuchardt (Robert), as well as his sons, Bryan Josleyn, Jeffrey Maskos, and Karl Weber. He also leaves behind his beloved brother, Dennis Josleyn, his brother-in-law Bill Matson, and four beloved grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Modena Josleyn. A proud graduate, Gary earned his Juris Doctorate degree and committed his life to justice and education as a distinguished law professor at Sturgis University, where he inspired countless students to pursue careers in law. His career spanned several noteworthy years practicing criminal law in Los Angeles, California, during which time he had the unique opportunity to serve as a bodyguard for prominent figures such as Oliver North, Henry Winkler, and Ron Howard. Beyond his professional achievements, Gary's heart was dedicated to helping those in need. He often provided legal advice to individuals who could not afford representation, demonstrating his kind and considerate nature. Gary was also known for his love of Blackjack and Texas Hold'em, as well as enjoying evenings at the movies, sharing laughter and joy with those around him. Memorial services to honor Gary's life will be held at a later date. While we mourn the loss of this incredible man, we find comfort in the memories shared and the legacy he leaves behind. His kindness, generosity, and ability to uplift those around him will forever remain in our hearts. In this time of grief, we extend our deepest condolences to the Josleyn family and invite all who knew Gary to celebrate the remarkable life he lived.
