Dorothy Sue Lester

Dorothy Patrick Lester, 76, of Iuka, Mississippi, died on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center – Iuka. She was a Christian and attended church at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing card games, going to the dirt track, being on her tablet, and watching hockey and NASCAR. The Detroit Red Wings were her favorite hockey team, and you couldn't peel her away when she got to watching their games. Mrs. Dorothy was amazing in the kitchen and loved to cook for everyone. She also really enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She had tons of flowers and loved to see the hummingbirds they attracted. What she loved the most, however, was her family, and it made her so happy when she was able to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dorothy is survived by her children, Laurel Velliquette (Mike), Charles Lester, Cheryl Sandlin (Tracy), Calloway Lester (Dawn), and Teresa Lester Hubbard; her grandchildren, Emily Lester, Brystal Suozzo (Nick), Forrest Sandlin, Madalyn Lester, Ethan Lester, Aiden Lester, Caitlyn Lester, Devlyn Lester, and Lucas Hubbard; her great-grandchildren, Lillie Lester, Jessie Suozzo, Oliver Lester, and Sam Lester; her brother, William Patrick; and many other friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lester; her son, Kevin Lester; her parents, James C. and Tressie Harville Patrick; and her siblings, Rubel Patrick, Jimmy Patrick, Floyd Patrick, Lena Crum, Shirley Potts, and Gracie Patrick. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for immediately after at 1:30 p.m., at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Chris Herrington. Pallbearers include Calloway Lester, Charles Lester, Ethan Lester, Chris Hubbard, Joseph Patrick, and Nick Suozzo. Honorary pallbearers include Tracy Sandlin, Mike Velliquette, Forrest Sandlin, and Bob Unwin. Burial will follow in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
