Dorothy (Donahue) Niccum-Springmeyer, 81, passed away on September 24, 2025, at her daughter's home in Pekin, Indiana. She was born on August 25, 1944, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to the late Charles Walter "Pete" Donahue and Lillian Beatrice (Ely) Donahue. Dorothy was devoted to her grandchildren and dedicated her later years to her career as a Realtor with HOOSIER REALTY and an insurance agent at MC Financial. Her work ethic and devotion to her clients were evident to all who knew her. She had served many years in telecommunications as well with GTE, Contel and Verizon, and was instrumental in getting 911 set up throughout the Southern Indiana region. Dorothy is preceded in death by her aunt and uncle who raised her, Voris "Fat" and Margaret Robbins; her husband, Ray A. Niccum; two brothers, Charles Donahue and James Donahue; and one grandson, Patric Niccum. Dorothy is survived by her partner, Wayne Springmeyer; one daughter, Laura (Freddie) Niccum-Bishop; one son, Phillip (Jeton) Niccum; four grandchildren, Melanie (Roland) Bledsoe-Wells, Amanda (Nathan) Bledsoe-Brown, Paige Niccum, and Adam Niccum; four great-grandchildren, Delaney Wills, Lain Wills, Jovie Brown and Iris Brown. Cremation was entrusted to Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana. Graveside service will be held at Scottsburg Cemetery. Please share memories and condolences at www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
