Dorothy (Schmeltz) Potts, 100, passed away on April 2nd, 2025.
Born in Trenton, NJ, she resided in Ewing for 48 years before moving to Hamilton, NJ. She worked for Bakefair Bakery in Ewing as well as the State of NJ Division of Taxation before retiring in 1987. After she retired she enjoyed traveling and visited Hawaii, Nevada, Vermont, Missouri, Florida, Virginia, Niagara Falls, and Lake George. Dorothy was known for her unmatched baking skills. Her Cakes, pies and Christmas cookies have never been able to be duplicated, though many have tried.
Predeceased by her husband, Donald Potts, and sister, Eva Cubberly, she is survived by her three sons and four daughters: Donald Potts, Jr., Richard Potts and wife Debbie, Kenneth Potts and wife Elsa, Marcia Lenartowicz, Kathy Richardson and husband Bryan, Linda DeAngelo and husband Ken, Terri Corus and husband Kyron, as well as 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Dorothy was dedicated to her family and was the matriarch of the family.
As those who knew her reflect on her life, they will remember a woman whose kindness left a mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May she rest in peace. She will be missed.
Cremation was handled by the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Ave., Ewing, NJ 08638.
