DOROTHY REDDEN
Henderson, TN: Dorothy Faye Plunk Redden age 70, passed away November 25, 2024, at Lexington Manor.
She was born October 27, 1954, in Finger, TN the daughter of the late Henry Howard Plunk, Sr. and Bonnie Lee Wright Plunk. She grew up in Finger and was a 1972 graduate of McNairy Central High School.
She married Mike Redden on February 12, 1979. They made their home in Henderson.
She worked as a clerk at Freed Hardeman University Bookstore for many years.
She was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
She loved being outside and doing yard work and going to estate sales.
She loved whatever her grandkids activities included.
Mrs. Redden is survived by her husband, Michael ‘Mike’ Fay Redden of Henderson; two sons, Payton Redden (Shelley) of Jackson and Wesley Redden (Jessica) of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Mary Payton Redden, Charlie Redden, Anna Redden, Caroline Redden, Harper Redden, Hannah Redden and Grace Redden; two sisters, Allie Mae Henry (Dennis) of Finger and Mary Jane Plunk of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Henry Howard Plunk, Jr., Dewayne Plunk, David Plunk, Isaac Plunk, Buford Plunk and M.E. Plunk and three sisters, Lavern Watson, Minnie Davis and Blondell Powers.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bill Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetlips Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time on Friday.
