Dot Schipani passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 26,
2024, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey.
Born on April 5, 1966, Dorothy Mary Coyle was the youngest of five children born
to Joan and Phil Coyle. Dot grew up in the Bay Terrace neighborhood of Staten
Island, where she made lasting memories and lifelong friends.
She attended St. Joseph Hill Academy, where she was an accomplished student
and captain of the track and cross country team. Following graduation, Dot began
her career at Shearson Lehman Brothers, where she was employed for more than
10 years.
In 1989, Dot met the love of her life, Danny Schipani, while celebrating the Fourth
of July at D'Jais in Belmar. Throughout her life she spent countless hours at the
Jersey Shore. This included childhood vacations in Seaside Heights, as well as
summer houses with the girls in Belmar. She later enjoyed family vacations in Long
Beach Island and Stone Harbor.
Dot and Danny married on June 12, 1992, and later moved to Old Bridge, New
Jersey, where they raised their sons, Danny and Kevin. Dot was a loving, devoted
wife and mother, who dedicated her life to her family.
She loved nothing more than spending time with her boys and was their biggest
supporter. Dot was present at every cross country meet, as well as basketball and
soccer games. She was an active member of the Cheesequake School PTA and
served as a parent volunteer for the Old Bridge High School Cross Country Team.
Dot never let an opportunity pass to do something with Danny and the boys. This
included watching the N.Y. Rangers and NASCAR races with her beloved dogs,
Midnight, Dewey, and Kelly at her side.
Dot was the quintessential caretaker for so many people in her life, including
family members, friends, and neighbors. Her compassion, caring nature, and
sense of humor made her beloved by all who had the privilege to know her.
Dot's door was always open and everyone was welcome. She loved hosting her
large family every Christmas Eve and welcomed countless friends to her backyard
for summer barbecues. Her home was filled with music, delicious home-cooked
meals, and always laughter. Because of her, the Schipani home was filled with love
and will continue to be, as we honor her legacy.
Dot is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Danny; adored sons, Danny
and Kevin; siblings, Ellen Coyle, Joanie Coyle, Phil (Maria) Coyle, and John (Tina)
Coyle; sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Frank) Garone and Cammy (Dennis) Stack;
father-in-law, Danny Schipani; cherished nieces and nephews, P.J., Mike (Megan),
Lylah, Amanda, Alexa, Frankie (Mary), Matthew (Alexandra), Kristan (George),
Dennis (Steph), and Nicole; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was
pre-deceased by her parents, Joan and Phil 'Flip' Coyle, her mother-in-law,
Carmela 'Weenie' Schipani, and sister-in-law, Doraine Coyle.
