Dottie Rose Fahrner, 76, of Washington, died Thursday, April 10, 2025, in UPMC Washington Hospital with her family by her side. She was born February 4, 1949, in Cumberland, Md., a daughter of the late Dwight and Imogene Ryan Rose. Dottie was a graduate of Bedford High School and The Washington Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at the Washington Hospital, for 30 years, retiring in September 1999. Mrs. Fahrner was a member of the Centreville United Methodist Church and the Emeritus Club of West Virginia Wesleyan College. On December 23, 1983, she married Robert S. Fahrner, her husband of 41 years, who survives. Together they enjoyed traveling, camping and for the last 18 years spending their winters in Cocoa Beach, FL. They have been on 32 cruises, managed to travel to 49 of the 50 states, only missing Oklahoma, and had trips to Europe and six of the Canadian provinces. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, was a sports enthusiast, especially the Steelers and WVU and playing the slots at the casino. Surviving in addition to her husband are: two stepchildren, Stacy Reynolds of Washington and Bill Fahrner (Kristin) of Elon, NC; a sister, Beverly Rose (Fiance Bernie Curarelli) of Cumberland, Md.; four step grandchildren, Macy and Jeff Reynolds and Kayla and Lainey Fahrner. A sister, Marie Rose King is deceased. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2025, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Ave., Houston, PA 15342. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in the Zion Presbyterian Church, 4861 Pickens Rd., Helvetia, WV 26234 with interment following in the Fahrner Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to West Virginia Wesleyan College, 59 College Ave., Buckhannon, WV 26201,
