Dorothy "Dottie" Shipman Lida
Laurens
Dorothy Shipman Lida, 73, of Laurens and wife of the late Robert Jackson Lida, Jr., passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at her home.
Born in Laurens, she was the daughter of the late Claude Robert and Audrey Smith Shipman. Dottie was a member of Lucas Avenue Baptist Church and retired after 35 years of service from Cyovac Industries, working in the Laminate and Graphics departments.
Dottie is survived by a daughter, Pamela Doss of Laurens; a special friend, Cortney Fleming of Laurens; special "sisters", Brenda Garrett and Reggie Thompson; special cousins, Jennie Brady and Mike Lida; and numerous, loving nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dottie was predeceased by a son, Tommy Coln and a brother, Robert Wayne Shipman.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens in Woodruff, SC, conducted by Rev. Michael Post. The family will greet friends immediately after the service.
The family would like to express a special thanks to VIA Hospice for their excellent care of Dottie.
