My thoughts and deepest sympathies to Doug´s family on their (and our) profound loss. I had the privilege to work with Doug in the SAF and found him to be a consummate pro and just a really great guy. He made our organizations better and helped me improve too. We also shared many lunches at the EDR where he always shared a great story and could make me laugh - A real stress reliever in the middle of the day! I offer my prayers to his family. We will miss him.

May God bless Doug and his family and may he rest in peace. I´d like to thank Doug for his many years of service to the Air Force and his kindness to me over many years in the Pentagon. He was a very decent man no matter how stressful the situation seemed. He was always kind and measured. All the best to his friends and family. Respectfully, Peter Bonanno.

Doug and I were friends from Kings Point. We were sea partners on a ITB tanker that would sail between Staten Island and St Croix. We were young and anticipating adventure of the sea going life on A big ship. We would hang out and listen to Doug's collection of Reggae music while worked on our sea projects. It was a great time to spread our wings and learn the hard work behind the glamorous sea going life. I always enjoyed Doug's company. When we were in port we would walk around to see the sites to make it a true adventure. His calm demeanor and positive personality made life fun in our stateroom on the ship. Flash forward 30 years after graduation Doug and I reconnected and I was able to catch some time with Doug Diane and Danny and Rochelle. I felt extremely privileged to be able to swap sea stories. I caught the tale of Doug's hilarious rebellious nature on a visit to Kings Point just prior to our indoctrination into the class of 86 where be basically decided that Surfing on Long Island was going to be his life's avocation rather than 4 years at Kings Point and a commission in the Navy. It was quite a different smart and funny young man that I got to know at KP. We would exchange emails and phone calls about work world events and everything under the sun in the ensuing years. We will miss your off beat humor and genuine good nature. Rest Easy Doug we have the watch.

Doug was an amazing partner in SaF/FM! He made everyone around him better. I´ll always remember him and Danny joking around in my office! Danny always had great interest in my aircraft models. I´ll always remember what a great relationship Doug had with Danny and how he lit up talking about his entire family!

We had the pleasure of meeting up with Douglas. He attended his sisterinlaws 4th of July party as many times as he could. Doug was a good conversationalist as well as an excellent provider for his family. We will miss talking with him at the 4th of July parties.
With deepest sympathies.

My deepest condolences; I worked w/ Doug in the Air Force for nearly two decades and can say I never had anything less than a positive, productive engagement with him. He served the Air Force very well. I can also say I never had a conversation with him where he didn't make me chuckle or even LOL. He had that sort of lighthearted way about him that made him a pleasure to be around. A friend to many, he'll sure be missed.

I just met Doug about a month ago. He and his son would stop by the house during their daily walk. When he introduced himself he said he had noticed my bumper sticker and felt we had something in common. After discussing current events we discovered we had a lot in common. We both were retired veterans who were really concerned about the direction our beloved country was taking. We discussed what we could do to make a difference. He was a sailor and I am a soldier but for the brief moment I knew Doug we were brothers for the same cause.
Doug was one of the friendliest people you would ever want to meet. I will miss him. I will pray for Doug´s family that they be comforted by God.
Farewell my friend. Your final tour of duty is complete.
