Douglas "Doug" Harder

HARDER, Douglas "Doug"- of Clio, formerly of Grand Rapids, age 74, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at McLaren Flint. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Doug's wife, Cheryl, to assist with funeral and personal expenses.
Doug was born April 12, 1950, in Grand Rapids, to the late Kenneth and Ruby (Barrett) Harder. He graduated from Godwin Heights High School and was a proud business owner for most of his life. He married his beloved wife, Cheryl Dearinger, in 1996, and together they built a beautiful life. Doug was a proud American who loved everything patriotic and was a big supporter of the United States Department of Defense – he was incredibly proud of his granddaughter and her husband who served in the United States Navy. His favorite pastime was taking his corvette out for a spin, especially when the weather was nice, and he liked to show his car at the car shows. He truly lived every day to the fullest. Above all, Doug loved his family and wishes for all his loved ones to "shoot for the stars."
Doug is forever remembered and loved by: Wife, Cheryl Harder; Children: Katie (Todd) Brewer and Ryan Harder; Granddaughter, Shelby (Ryan) Albertson; Siblings: Ron (Kathy) Harder, Bruce (Cherie) Harder, Bryan (Ruth) Harder, and Vicki Kik; Many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and wonderful friends. Doug was preceded in death by: Parents, Kenneth and Ruby; Brother, Ken Harder, Jr.
