Douglas Gerard Hearle of Mount Vernon, New York, formerly of Pelham, New York, passed away on August 23, 2025. He was 64 years old.

Born and raised in Pelham, Douglas was the eldest of three children. He attended Colonial Elementary School and graduated from Pelham Memorial High School, where he loved playing football and golf. He continued his education at St. Leo’s College in Florida before earning his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry.

Douglas was a devoted sports fan, especially of the New York Mets and the New York Rangers, and he regularly attended games to cheer on his teams. He had a warm, outgoing personality and could strike up a conversation on just about any topic. A true animal lover, Douglas had a special fondness for dogs.

Those who knew him will remember Douglas as gregarious, compassionate, and thoughtful. Though sometimes stubborn, he was deeply caring and loving at heart—a true people person.

He is survived by his beloved mother, Mary Hearle; his brothers, Christopher (Kelly) Hearle and Matthew (Donna) Hearle; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Christopher (Brianna) Hearle, Caitlin (Will) Hearle Magnani, Kylie Hearle, Catherine Hearle, and Ian Hearle. He was predeceased by his father, Douglas Hearle.

Douglas will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
