Douglas Holcombe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crawford / Ray Funeral Home on Mar. 12, 2024.
Douglas "Doug" Eugene Holcombe, age 73, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024. Doug will forever be remembered as a kind and loving man and he will be greatly missed.
He was born July 15, 1950 in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Russell L. Holcombe and the late Annie Sue Medlin Holcombe. Doug had made his home in Simpsonville before moving to Haywood County in 2019 to make his home. Let us hold onto the memories of Doug's life that are as special as the stories he loved to share with family and friends, especially the younger years of his life. His wonderful stories were filled with life lessons, adventures and much laughter. Doug was a dedicated truck driver with UPS for 41 years. He always was the true example of commitment and hard work.
He was a homebody at heart, cherishing the comfort of his home and being surrounded by the things he loved. His passion for classic cars and antique tractors was more than a hobby, it was a bridge to the past, a testament to his great appreciation for craftsmanship and history. His love for " his cigars" was surely a trademark for Doug. He also enjoyed photography, through which he captured wonderful moments and memories.
He loved his family with all his heart and soul and his great love for his grandchildren knew no bounds.
Our hearts are deeply saddened to lose Doug but his memory is forever in our hearts.
Surviving are his loving girlfriend, Melissa Beck Morgan of Maggie Valley, his daughters, Jennifer Morgan Holcombe of Greer, SC, Samantha Holcombe Goodlett of Greenville, SC and Candace Ann Morgan of Canton; grandchildren, Trey Goodlett, Angelina Henderson, Johnathan Henderson, Lisa Hill and Bryce Amos; his sisters, Debra Holland (Greer) of Greenville, SC, Janice Bowlin ( Chuck) of Simpsonville, SC, and Rita Holcombe (Chris) of Simpsonville, SC; a brother, Randy Holcombe of Simpsonville, SC; a nephew, Chase Bowlin and also many friends.
A celebration of life service for Mr. Holcombe will be held at a later date.
