Douglas Kasten was born June 6, 1935 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Grew up on a farm near La Crescent, Minnesota.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957 as a mechanic and crew chief on KC-97 refuelers in the 71st ARS.

In 1961 he received a graduate of Theology degree from Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.

He has owned and managed a furniture and auto upholstery shop for 30 years.

Has 6 children, 11 grandchildren and he is presently residing in Penrose, Colorado, semi retired, enjoying music, dancing, playing the Hammered Dulcimer and writing.
