Douglas Wayne Manley, age 43, of Liberty passed away December 21, 2025 at his home. He was born December 23, 1981 in Alamance County, North Carolina the son of the late Paul Lindley Manley and Frances Marie Staley Manley. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Paul Manley Jr. and sister, Donna Robinson.

Doug was a hardworking individual, whose hands were seasoned from years dedicated to metal scrapping and mechanical pursuits. His expertise extended to both automotive and small engines, where he honed his skills with patience and precision. Doug's affinity for the natural world was evident in his choice of professions, favoring work that kept him beneath open skies and surrounded by nature's beauty. Whether it was landscaping or another outdoor venture, he found joy and fulfillment in the earth's embrace. In his leisure, Doug was most at peace riding his four-wheeler across rugged trails or casting a line into still waters with hopes of a good catch. An avid fisher, he appreciated the simple yet profound pleasures found by the water's edge.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Julie Atkins Manley; daughter, Alexis Manley; brother, Charles Manley; sister, Casey Lynn Young; aunts, Debra Hinshaw, Shirley Hufstetler, Linda Burgett and Judy Chamberlin; uncles, Mike Hinshaw and Larry Staley; and numerous other beloved family and friends.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
