Douglas Charles Nading, age 67, of Kingsville, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home.
He was born July 18, 1957, in Oswego, KS, the son of Charles David and Iona Elaine (Christy) Nading.
On January 19, 1999, he and Sheryl Malloy were united in marriage in Liberty, MO.
Doug is survived by his wife, Sheryl Malloy, of Kingsville; his son, Collin Nading, of Shreveport, LA; his daughter, Shannon (Brent) Cary, of Wichita, KS; his step children, Ashley (Matt) Lotspeich, of Warrensburg, John Nicholas (Rachel) Malloy, of Dublin, Ireland, and Meagan Malloy (Tanner Griffin) of Overland Park, KS; a brother, David Nading, of Fort Cobb, OK; and seven grandchildren.
Doug attended Labette County High School in Altamont, KS where he was a 4-year letter winner in basketball. He earned 1st team all-state honors in his junior and senior years. After graduation Doug went to Allen County Community College where he played basketball for 2 years and then went on to MidAmerica Nazarene University and finished his basketball career and graduated with his BSE in Physical Education. Doug then attended and graduated from UCM with his master's degree.
Doug's love of basketball led him to coaching for over 20 years at both the middle and high school level. He loved sharing his passion on the court. In addition to sports, Doug enjoyed working with wood and was able to do most handy man projects around the house except for plumbing...he hated plumbing! He will be remembered for his deep voice, strong presence, hearty laugh and straight talk. Doug was a good friend to many, a loving husband, papa, brother and father. He will be greatly missed.
