Doug was born on Jan 1, 1973 in La Plata, MD at Physicians Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his large Spring Dell family and his housemates Marcia and Demika. He is predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Viola Nevitt. On March 6, Doug passed away peacefully at his home in Waldorf, MD.
Doug was 52 years old and resided in Waldorf, Md. Doug completed his education at Thomas Stone High School. After high school, Doug went on to work with Melwood on various employment crews, performing beautification work throughout the county. Doug was a participant with Spring Dell Center, receiving supports and building friendships for more than thirty years.
Doug was a unique gentleman, who had a smile that lit up the room. He had a way of stealing your heart and never letting go. Doug was charming, funny and a bit unpredictable. You never knew what he might come up with, but each day with him was an adventure. His infectious personality and grin warmed your heart and boosted your mood, no matter what was going on. Doug was a bit mischievous and was always up to something, He loved music and might just bust a move in his chair when you least expected it. He loved to catch others off guard, snatch you up and give you a big hug, just to let you know that he loved you. Doug was loved by so many, and he knew it. He cherished the ladies that supported him daily and had a special bond with each of them, especially his girl Cheyenne.
Doug will be greatly missed by his Spring Dell family and everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. We were honored to be with him until the very end. Special thanks to Caryolyn, Joyce, Bridgett, Heidi, Shanka, Coreen, Su, Patricia, Tola, Melanie, OC, Grace, and everyone else that lavished Doug with loving care and comfort each and every day.
Also, thank you to Charles County DSS and Charles County Health Department for their support.
God Bless him.
Services for Doug will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. Viewing/visitation at 11:00 a.m., with services starting at 12:00 p.m. Internment at a later date.
