Douglas Charles Sheraski of Springfield, Missouri, passed away December 17, 2024, with his wife of 32 years, Kris Sheraski, at his side.
Doug was born on August 19, 1947, to Mildred Koenig of Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Doug was raised and loved by Carl and Mildred Sheraski. He attended Manitowoc High School and Lakeland College. Doug worked in accounting firms his whole career and was an IRS Enrolled Agent.
Doug married Kris Sheraski on May 2, 1992, and they lived for a time in Marinette, Wisconsin. They moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, in 1999. In 2009 they retired to Springfield, Missouri, where they resided until the time of his passing.
Doug is preceded in death by Mildred and Carl Sheraski. He is survived by his wife, Kris Sheraski; sister, Debbie; Aunt Yvonne; stepchildren: Mathew and Gina McCabe, Torrie McCabe, and Sarah McCabe; 7 grandchildren: Elijah, Nicea, Isaac, Pauline, Madeline, Illyanna, and Jack.
Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley. He served his country in the Vietnam War with the United States Army. He was an active member of the Patriot Guard Riders in his retired years and served the veteran community with honor and sacrifice.
Doug will be honored with Military Honors at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery the morning of January 3, 2025, in a private family ceremony. Doug will be remembered by friends and family at a memorial service at Evangel Temple in Springfield, Missouri on January 3, at 1:30 PM. Visitation with family will take place from 12:30-1:30 PM at Evangel Temple, prior to the service.
His arrangements have been entrusted to the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home.
