In Loving Memory of Douglas J. Stites
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas J. Stites. He was a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend. Doug left us peacefully on Sunday, May 11th, 2025 at the age of 87.
Doug was a man of quiet strength and unwavering love. A hardworking provider, he lived his life in service to his family, always placing their needs above his own. Through every challenge and joy, he stood as a pillar of support, guidance, and unconditional love.
Doug found great joy in life's simple pleasures. An avid fisherman and lover of the great outdoors, he was most at peace with a rod in hand and nature all around him. Whether it was a weekend camping trip, a quiet morning on the lake, or a backyard barbecue, he treasured every opportunity to be with his loved ones under the open sky.
Doug worked as an Engineer for Litton Guidance Control Systems, later merging with Northrop Grumman, for over 50 years. He was very proud to have worked on many government contracts throughout those years.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Linda Lou (Votroubek) Stites; his children, Karen I. Eltzroth (Husband Michael Eltzroth), Miles Stites (wife Jane Stites), and Eric Stites; His Grand-Children, Kenny Eltzroth (wife Sarah Eltzroth), Alexander Eltzroth, Jacob Eltzroth, Samantha Stites and Eric Stites Jr. (wife Jennie Stites) and Matthew Stites; Great-Grand Children Aurora Stites, Robin Stites, Sydney Fuentes, Arlo Fuentes and Jameson Stites; Nieces Sherry Hazelhurst and Jill Hazelhurst; Nephew Rudy Votroubek and Great-Nephew Stanley Wammack.
He was deeply loved, and he will be missed beyond measure.
