WEBSTER-Sandy Baird, age 64, of Webster, died Monday, September 15, 2025, at her home.
Sandy was born October 30, 1960, in Sigourney, the daughter of Kenneth and Patricia (Rose) Seaba and attended English Valleys Schools. On August 21, 1981, she married Billy Baird at his parents’ home in Sigourney. They lived in Sigourney until moving to Webster in 2010. Sandy was a trimmer at Louis Rich, later Sigourney/West Liberty Foods and cleaned houses for many years. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, having fun with friends and, most importantly, her granddaughter, Shelby.
Survivors include her husband Bill of Webster; son: Jeremy (Markie) Baird of Des Moines; granddaughter: Shelby Baird of Cedar Rapids; three sisters: Mary Lou Miller of North English, Diana Streigle of Pontiac, Missouri and Linda Neff of Keota; in-laws: Pete and Mary Baird of Sigourney; sister-in-law: Shelly Westfall of South English and brother-in-law: Tom Baird of North English. She was preceded in death by her parents and son: Joey Baird.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Garrett Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established for Essence of Life Hospice. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Sigourney is caring for Sandy and her family. Tributes may be made at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
